I have an aunt that is a kindergarten teacher (and I have heard from other kindergarten teachers) that some important skills to learn is how to hold a pencil, how to use scissors and a big one is being able to sit still and to follow directions. Joy school does provide all of that as well as do all the activities for academic learning in the kindergarten readiness program that you can buy in addition to joy school 2.0. I do the kindergarten readiness during my child’s second year (age 4) and they know all the things taught in kindergarten.
THANK YOU! I have been wanting this for years!
@kristawiddison, that might be a bit far for us, I’m at 110th South and 13th east. But, when next year comes around, let’s talk then and maybe we’ll have a better idea what to expect!

I’m looking for a group in Eagle Mountain. We’re in the Ranches very close to Saratoga Springs.
I have wondered the same thing but came to the conclusion that it is never too late to start. Yes, I wish I had started joy school with my oldest but my youngest can only gain from the joy school experience. The cost really is minimal when compared to other preschools. I looked at sample lesson plans and that helped me decide to go ahead and do joy school. The lessons are so well planned and teach valuable principles. Good luck with your decision. :)
My child will be attending a Christian preschool, and so I’m wondering how beneficial this would be in addition to that school. I love this idea so much!

Trying to see if there is interest or one already forming :)

Sigh… so close! I’m in Alamogordo (about 3 1/2 hours South of you)! :(
Hi, I read about Joy School on the Eyre’s blog and I will love to be able to do it with my daughter.
But I am finding difficulties at finding other moms to do it with.
Any other mother out there that started a group herself have any tips that could help me?
Thnx
StephanieOh man, that is a little too far isn’t it. ;) I hope you can form a group in your area.
I am new to joy school and would like to start a group for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. We will do joy school for 2 full years before she starts kinder. Is it best to find other 3 turning 4 year olds to join our group for year 1 or does it work to have 4 turning 5 year olds as well? Any suggestions/tips would be appreciated.:)
