New Website (Thanks), and a New Give Away Offer (Wow)

This blog post is about two things: 1. The re-designed Joy School website we are all enjoying, and 2. How to get a free copy of the first edition of Teaching Children Joy by signing up for Joy School 2.0 by September 5.

So first of all, what a difference a site makes! Those of you who were tired of and even fed up with the old ValuesParenting site (pretty much everyone) have been so happy to go to ValuesParenting.com and find a fresh, crisp, well designed and super functional new Joy School website, redesigned from stem to stern!

The thanks for this goes to our extraordinary son Josh, who, along with being the best elementary school teacher on the planet, is a fabulous web designer and operations manager for ValuesParenting. Thanks Josh, from everyone who uses the site, and we all look forward to the same design and function excellence on the remainder of the ValuesParenting site!

Now, about getting registered for the new Joy School 2.0 and getting a free book: It is true that the $20-off sale is over, but here is an equally good incentive for those who are not signed up yet and for the new Joy School group members that you will be bringing in: Until September 5, anyone and everyone who signs up for Joy School 2.0 becomes eligible to receive a free copy of the book that started it all. As you know, it was our book Teaching Your Children Joy that spawned Joy School, and we just happen to have several hundred first editions of that book which we would like to give out to anyone who signs up between now and September 5.

This first edition has exactly the same content as the edition still available in bookstores and on Amazon, but it also has vintage photos of the Eyre family when our own kids were Joy School age. So if you have ever wondered what Josh, Saren, Shawni, or any of the others looked like as little kids, this edition will tickle you. And it’s always fun to have a first edition of a book that has undergone multiple printings and editions for over 30 years.

It is simple to get it. Just enroll in the new Joy School 2.0 by September 5, and on September 21 you will receive an email with instructions on how to get your copy. All you will do is send us an envelope with the correct postage affixed, and we will sign and personalize your book and have it to you by October.

Love to you as fellow parents,
Linda and Richard

Help Joy School and Help Your Friends at the Same Time

The $150 total cost for the full year of the modernized Joy School 2.0, which includes lifetime membership in Valuesparenting.com is the lowest price in history—even lower than the price 15 years ago for the old lesson plans and VP membership. As the last blog post mentioned, Joy School is growing at a record clip with people from all 50 states and dozens of foreign countries joining up and focusing on their preschoolers’ JQ (Joy Quotient). Those who have recently joined are now busily getting their friends and neighbors enrolled and forming their rotating Joy School teaching group. So its all good, and Joy School continues to spread throughout the world.

But there is a problem: Despite all the recent growth, Joy School still sometimes seems like the best-kept secret around! Most moms have never heard of it. Unless a mom happens to know someone who has done Joy School, chances are that she will never hear about it or have access to it.

The only one who can solve this problem is you! Because Joy School is an inexpensive, share-the-cost program, there is little if any money for advertising or marketing. The word spreads only by word of mouth. So what we are asking you to do, now, while moms are thinking about the school year ahead—is to use your email list and your facebook and instagram and twitter and other social media to get the word out! Whether you have preschoolers of your own or not, let other moms who do have 3- and 4-year-olds know about Joy School in time to benefit from the full year curriculum.

The buzz about the new Joy School 2.0 continues. You might like to look at Linda’s blog or at Shawni’s blog or take a look at the second and third videos on the right side of this page.

Thanks for sharing,
Linda and Richard Eyre

Two-Week Joy School Sale!

Ruth Eyre

We are so pleased to announce a one time, two-week sale on Joy school!

August and early September are traditionally the time when moms sign up for Joy School and form their Joy School groups.

August also happens to be the month of the birthday of Ruth Eyre, grandmother of the Eyre family and patron saint and writer of the original Joy School curriculum.

Ruth passed in 2013 and her great legacy is kept alive by Joy School and by the recent total revision and update of her wonderful lesson plans.

We put that all together and came up with what we think is a wonderful idea: A two week sale for new members, the first in Joy School history, that starts just before Ruth’s birthday (August 9 – she would be 93) and allows something that Ruth would like – for more families to have Joy School for a little less money.

So here’s how it works: From August 7 to August 21 you can go to the Joy School sign-up page, select the “New to Joy School” option and enter the coupon code RUTHEYRE at checkout to get $20 off of your lifetime dues and membership for Joy School 2.0. This will make the full cost $130 instead of the already low $150.

You may want to try to form your joy school group during this sale so that all moms will benefit from this special sale. Of course you will still be able to add other moms to your group after August 21 at the regular price which is lower than it has ever been, but this is just a nice little additional price break for those who are all ready to go now.

And it gives us a chance to celebrate the wonderful, child-centered life of Ruth who not only took our book _Teaching Your Children Joy_ and turned it into a full blown preschool curriculum but who opened the original Joy School in Logan, Utah and taught thousands of preschoolers over more than 20 years, all the while perfecting and improving the lesson plans. Thank you Ruth! You are a noble lady indeed, and your work and your legacy lives on!

This sale also gives us the opportunity to honor Wendy Murdock and Andrea Burgon who did so much work on the original music and art for Joy School, and Corry DeMille and Lia Davis who were the administrators for Joy School for more than two decades. And another big shout-out to our daughters Saren Eyre Loosli and Aja F. Eyre who did the major re-write, modernization and update of Joy School 2.0 which we are all now able to enjoy!

Love to you all,
Linda and Richard Eyre
